Duffy: Biden Era Let Unvetted Migrants Drive Big Rigs

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy is warning that the Biden administration left major safety loopholes that allowed unvetted illegal immigrants to obtain commercial driving licenses and operate big rigs across the country. Duffy said the prior administration granted entry to millions of illegal immigrants without any way to verify their backgrounds. "We couldn't go back and look at their countries of origin," Duffy said, adding that officials "couldn't see their criminal records" or "driving records." He said the government has "basically zero information about who these people are" behind the wheel of massive commercial vehicles. The comments add to mounting Republican criticism of Biden-era immigration and vetting policies, which critics say compromised public safety by allowing untracked drivers onto American highways.
