IsraAID, Israel's largest non-governmental humanitarian aid organization, is reporting that it is deploying an emergency response team to Nepal following devastating flooding and landslides that struck the country. According to the group, CEO Yotam Polizer said the organization is “devastated to see the scenes unfolding in Nepal as entire communities have been destroyed by flash flooding and landslides,” adding that “our thoughts are with everyone affected.” Polizer noted he personally led IsraAID’s mission to Nepal after the devastating 2015 earthquake and has witnessed firsthand “the strength, resilience, and beauty” of Nepali communities. He said IsraAID will “do everything we can to bring urgent support where it is needed most.” The deployment continues Israel's long record of rapid humanitarian response to global disasters.
