The IDF and Shin Bet say Israeli special forces raided a building in Gaza City and captured Muein al-Arabid, head of Hamas's internal security apparatus, rejecting reports that an Israeli-backed anti-Hamas militia carried out the operation. According to the IDF, the Air Force struck nearby military targets to protect the forces during the raid, and no Israeli troops were injured. Israeli officials say al-Arabid had been working to strengthen Hamas's grip on northern Gaza and advance terror attacks against IDF troops. The operation marks another blow to Hamas's command structure as Israel continues targeting the group's remaining security and military leadership across the Gaza Strip.
