Israeli Border Police and crossing security officers seized roughly NIS 1.4 million hidden inside a double wall of a vehicle at the Tunnels Checkpoint, according to police, as the car entered Jerusalem from Judea and Samaria. The driver, a 29-year-old Jerusalem resident, was detained on suspicion the cash was linked to terror financing. He has been handed over for a joint investigation by Jerusalem Police and the Shin Bet, and his detention has been extended through August 31. Authorities have not yet disclosed the intended destination of the funds. The seizure underscores ongoing efforts by Israeli security services to disrupt terror financing networks moving money through crossings between Judea and Samaria and Jerusalem.
