Massive flash floods along a border area of Nepal and China killed at least 98 people on Wednesday, according to officials, with hundreds more reported missing. Nepal's prime minister's office reported at least 95 dead as floodwaters swept through communities, halting travel in several areas and stranding tourists and workers. Separately, China's state broadcaster CCTV reported a mudslide in Tibet's Gyirong County near the border killed at least three people and left 265 missing. Search and rescue operations are ongoing in the affected regions as authorities work to reach isolated communities cut off by the disaster. The full scale of the damage and casualties remains unclear as officials from both countries continue to assess the situation.
