Report: Iran plotted to assassinate Yair Netanyahu in Florida

Yair Netanyahu, the eldest son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was reportedly the target of an Iranian assassination plot while living in South Florida, Newsmax reported Wednesday, citing a U.S. law-enforcement source familiar with the matter. The report fills in details after Netanyahu disclosed earlier this week that Iran had attempted to assassinate one of his sons, without specifying which one at the time. The alleged plot underscores the continuing threat Iranian operatives pose not just to Israeli officials at home, but to their families abroad, including on U.S. soil. Iran has long been accused of plotting against Israeli and Jewish targets worldwide, and this report, if confirmed, would mark one of the most direct threats yet against the Netanyahu family personally. U.S. authorities have not yet publicly commented on the matter.
