Surfside Mayor Pushes Hate-Crime Charges After Assault on Jewish Man

Surfside Mayor Shlomo Danzinger said the man accused of beating a visibly Jewish man last week had previously harassed Jews in the area, including allegedly chasing and threatening people near The Shul of Bal Harbour, VIN News reported. Danzinger said the accused man's employer terminated him after learning of the incident, and that he hopes the Florida attorney general's office pursues the case as a hate crime. He added that local law enforcement responded immediately.
