Trump slams Chicago leaders over violence, urges Pritzker to call

President Trump took aim at Chicago and Illinois leadership over ongoing violence in the city, posting on Truth Social that state and city officials 'can't do what I do' when it comes to addressing crime. Trump directly called on Illinois Governor JB Pritzker to reach out to him, writing 'CALL!!!' in the post. The message comes amid Trump's continued pressure on Democrat-led cities over public safety, an issue he has repeatedly used to criticize local governance in Chicago. No further details on specific federal action were included in the post. Pritzker's office has not yet responded publicly to the remarks. The exchange underscores ongoing tension between the Trump administration and Illinois Democrats over crime policy and federal involvement in urban law enforcement.
