AidOversight, a federal watchdog group, has independently confirmed that Faisal Ali Al-Naami, a UNRWA "social worker," was in fact an active Hamas operative who took part in kidnapping the body of Israeli civilian Yonatan Samerano during the October 7 massacre, according to the Free Beacon. Al-Naami reportedly served in Hamas's military communications unit and was killed in an Israeli airstrike on October 16, 2023. The outlet also reports that USAID's inspector general confirmed at least three UNRWA school teachers participated in the October 7 attacks and held Israeli hostages in Gaza. Federal investigators are said to be reviewing evidence linking more than 100 additional UNRWA employees to the massacre and to Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, raising fresh questions about the UN agency's ties to terror groups.
